Setting up and using eLeave is very easy.

Setting Up An Account for Your Company

Your company administrator will perform these tasks to setup the system for your company:

  • Sign up an account for your company.
  • Add your company employees and staff.
  • Add your company departments and assign the department managers.
  • Add holidays.
  • Configure the leave types applicable to your company.
  • Credit leave to your staff.
  • Send sign in information to your staff.

Once the above are done, your staffs can start to use the system to apply their leave.

Types of Leave

Leave type can have the following properties:

  • Require or do not require credit in order to apply
  • Paid or no pay
  • Maximum number of leave per year
  • Show or do not show in Leave Entitlement Page

An example of leave type that requires credit in order to apply is Annual Leave. A staff can only apply annual leaves when he has available credits of annual leave. The administrator would usually credit annual leaves to all staffs just before a new calendar year starts.

An example of leave type that does not require credit to apply is Hospitalization Leave. A staff need not have any credit for hospitalization leave before he can apply it. However, the administrator can set the maximum number of hospitalization leave per year that any staff can apply.

Leave credits of all leave types can be set to be displayed or hidden from staff view in the Leave Entitlement Page. Usually you would hide those leave types that do not require credits in order to apply.

Leave Application Process

The basic process of leave application goes like this:

  • Staff sign in and applies a leave.
  • An email will be sent by the system to the staff’s manager to notify him of the leave application.
  • The manager sign in to approve the staff’s leave application.
  • An email will then be sent by the system to the staff to notify him of the results.

Leave approved will be shown in the Leave -> Approved Page.

Leave Cancellation Process

While a leave is pending approval, the staff can cancel the pending leave. His manager will be notified of the cancelled leave and no further action is necessary.

However, to cancel a leave had already been approved, the staff would need to get his manager’s approval to cancel the approved leave. The leave cancellation process of approved leave goes like this:

  • Staff sign into the system.
  • Staff goes to the Leave -> Approved Page to find and cancel the approved leave.
  • An email will be sent by the system to the staff’s manager to notify him of the leave cancellation.
  • The manager sign in to approve the staff’s leave cancellation.
  • An email will then be sent by the system to the staff to notify him of the results.

Cancelled leave will be shown in the Leave -> Cancelled Page.
